Ground Transportation In Jamaica

Please take a moment to review this information on ground transportation in Jamaica. We work with Karandas Tours, one of the best ground transportation companies in Jamaica, Karandas Tours has a dedicated group of professional drivers. They will make your vacation stay at a villa that much more enjoyable as you do not need to worry about driving. This convenient service is priced at approximately the same cost as renting a car or van yourself and eliminates the big problem of driving on the left and on unfamiliar roads. Our drivers are knowledgeable on Jamaica and great tour guides. Our experience has shown that having a dedicated van and driver will allow you to enjoy your vacation to the fullest.

Your driver will personally meet and greet you at airport arrivals. Your group will then be comfortably transported to your villa.

Transfers to/from Kingston International Airport

Kingston Airport is on the south side of the island and is not our recommended airport for flying into and out of Jamaica. If you need to use Kingston International Airport we can arrange van transfers:

From Montego Bay Villas - $460 round trip for 1-6 guests with luggage (12 seat van). If you rent a van/driver package for the week the transfer would cost $300 round trip. Extra guests $70 each round trip.

From Silver Sands, Discovery Bay Villas - US$400.00 round trip for 1-6 guests with luggage (12 seat van). If you rent a van/driver package for the week the transfer would cost $300 round trip. Extra guests $65 each round trip.

From Runaway Bay, Ocho Rios Villas - US$240.00 round trip for 1-6 guests (12-seater van). No extra charge for Kingston Airport transfers if a weekly van package is purchased (one round trip only). Extra guests $50 each round trip.

From Port Antonio Villas - US$340.00 round trip for 1-6 guests (12 seater van). Extra guests $60 each round trip.

Meeting the driver at the airport:

After clearing immigration and customs, exit the terminal building to the pickup area outside where your driver will be waiting with a sign bearing "Name of Guest" Party.

#4 - Car Rental - Pay in Jamaica

You can rent a car in Jamaica at any of the airport car rental agencies such as Hertz, Budget, Dollar etc. Two good local agencies include:

Villa Car Rentals: Villa Car will meet and greet you at the airport and drive you to your villa in a private van. Your rental car will be located at the villa. You will fill out all the paperwork once you reach the villa sitting in the shade with a cool drink. Very easy! Rental Car Pricing and Information - To be paid in Jamaica

If your group and luggage will fit into the rental car, your car will be waiting at the airport. If not, Villa Car Rental will arrange for your group to be met at the airport by a van and driver and transport you to your villa where your rental car will be waiting. The cost for this service is $60 each way.

Insurance

Rates include public liability and property damage, fire and theft. Collision Damage Insurance must be purchased at the rate of US$15/day on all vehicles. However, in the event of an accident, the renter is still responsible for the first US$1,000 of any damages done to the rental vehicle. This must be collected in cash or on any major credit card at the time of rental, and is refundable at the end of the rental if there is no damage to the vehicle. The above holds good if rental agreement or Local Law is not violated.
