The Buccaneer is a spectacular modern villa designed by Sally Henzell, the architect of the internationally known Jake’s Place also in Treasure Beach. The recently built villa makes a bold statement with the use of concrete forms and colors. Clusters of stone, mosaic and glass tiles create a stylish setting. The Buccaneer sits on a rise overlooking the beach that affords all four bedrooms spectacular views of the sea. Decorated with a simple, artistic flair, all rooms in the villa have excellent ocean views. The house consists of an upstairs master suite, and three bedrooms on the main level, all with en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living/dining room opens to a covered verandah overlooking the sea. The large rooftop terrace with shaded areas is the perfect place for a private sunning retreat, relaxing with a good book or watching the setting sun. Outdoors the villa is surrounded by gardens of drought-tolerant plants, especially several beautiful Lignum vitae trees (the National tree of Jamaica) and cacti overlooking the sea. The costal plains of St. Elizabeth are some of the most arid areas of Jamaica and provide a unique mix of vegetation very different from other parts of the island. A path leads down the hill to the beach through mangos, papayas, coconuts and tamarind trees. The Buccaneer features telephone, fax, TV, VCR and internet access. The large, sunny, fresh water swimming pool offers an alternative to swimming in the sea. Bedroom Configuration: The Buccaneer has a staff of 3, comprised of cook, housekeeper/laundress and gardener.
